The 2024 Year-End Review and 2025 Task Deployment Conference

On the afternoon of December 5, 2024, at the Cat Lai Hall, Tan Cang Marine Services Joint Stock Company (TCMS) held its 2024 Year-End Review Conference and Task Deployment for 2025. Colonel Vo Hoai Nam – Party Committee Member and Deputy General Director of Saigon Newport Corporation – attended and directed the conference. The conference was chaired by Senior Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Nghia – Director of TCMS. Present at the event were all members of the Party Committee, the Company’s leadership, and 100% of the non-duty personnel.

Overview of the conference

In 2024, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the Company’s Management Board, along with the unity, consensus, and strong determination of all officers, staff, and employees, TCMS successfully fulfilled its national defense and security tasks, including military vessel towage and maritime rescue operations; and also achieved outstanding performance in business and production, reaching its highest-ever levels of volume, revenue, and profit, while maintaining a strong growth rate (towage volume increased by 4.2% year-over-year and 0.1% compared to the 2024 plan; revenue rose by 7.2% year-over-year and 6.4% compared to the plan; profit before tax grew by 17.8% year-over-year and 11.9% compared to the plan; profit after tax rose by 17.5% year-over-year and 11.2% compared to the plan). The overall morale of the officers, party members, and employees remained stable; democratic values were promoted; and both material and spiritual well-being of employees were ensured (average employee income increased by 9.2% year-over-year and 8.9% compared to the 2024 target). TCMS continued to affirm its position as a leading brand under Saigon Newport Corporation in the field of towage services nationwide.

At the conference, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thi Hong Thu, Secretary of the Party Committee, presented the 2025 leadership resolution of the Party Committee of TCMS. For 2025, the Party Committee and the Company’s leadership are committed to effectively fulfilling the tasks of military vessel towage, maritime rescue, and business operations under the guiding principle: “Uphold responsibility; ensure safety; strengthen cooperation; accelerate investment; operate efficiently.” The Party Resolution places a strong emphasis on decisive and effective implementation of the tugboat investment project; proactive market expansion, service development, and improvement of business quality and efficiency; innovation in corporate governance through digitalization, greenwashing, and administrative reform. The Company aims to build a lean, flexible, and efficient organization capable of accomplishing all assigned tasks, contributing to the development of Saigon Newport Corporation under the model of a marine economic corps with five core business pillars. Additionally, efforts will be directed toward strengthening the Party organization in terms of political ideology, ethics, structure, and personnel, as well as thoroughly preparing for and successfully organizing the Party Congress at all levels for the 2025–2030 term.

At the conference, representatives from functional departments and tugboats actively contributed insightful presentations, proposing practical solutions to support the successful implementation of the 2025 leadership resolution of the Company’s Party Committee.

Colonel Vo Hoai Nam, Deputy General Director of the Corporation, delivered a directive speech at the conference

In his directive speech at the conference, Deputy General Director Vo Hoai Nam praised the tradition of unity and strong consensus within the TCMS team over the years; he also highly appreciated the Company’s remarkable achievements in 2024, marked by outstanding growth. The leadership of Saigon Newport Corporation (SNP) acknowledged that TCMS’s 2025 strategic orientation – particularly in expanding markets and external services, with a focus on the oil & gas and offshore wind energy sectors – is both timely and well aligned with SNP’s new 2025 development strategy which aims to upgrade the Corporation into a “Marine Economic Corps” with five core pillars, including two new areas: “Industrial Park Investment and Business” and “Island Tourism and Offshore Renewable Energy Services.”; Deputy General Director emphasized the need for proactive solutions to effectively implement these directions and turn strategic visions into reality. In addition, he offered guidance for TCMS’s leadership to adopt practical measures to further improve the material and spiritual well-being of employees, such as increasing lunch and shift meal allowances and introducing age-appropriate health checkup packages for all officers, staff, and workers.

Also on this occasion, the Chairman of the Company’s Emulation and Commendation Council summarized the 2024 Determination-to-win Emulation Movement and launched the 2025 movement under the theme: “Solidarity, Democracy, Responsibility, Safety, Cooperation, Investment, Efficiency, Determined to Win”.
